Situat a la comarca de La Garrotxa es troba en el centre del triangle format per Figueres, Olot i Girona; a 150 m. sobre el nivell del mar. La Garrotxa \u00e9s una comarca gironina prepirinenca que limita amb les comarques del Ripoll\u00e8s, Osona, la Selva, el Giron\u00e8s, el Pla de l\u2019Estany, l\u2019Alt Empord\u00e0 i el Vallespir.<\/div>[vc_empty_space height=”16px”]
El nom “garrotxa” significa terra aspra, trencada, de mala petja. Possiblement aquesta comarca agafa el nom d’aquesta paraula, ja que el seu relleu \u00e9s molt muntany\u00f3s, amb bells paratges com els que es troben a la zona volc\u00e0nica d\u2019Olot, capital de la comarca, de gran inter\u00e8s geol\u00f2gic i natural.<\/div>
